CAMP x DISNEY ENCANTO
Originally opening in October of 2022 in New York City, CAMP x Disney Encanto is an immersive themed experience, currently touring inside the CAMP toy store at the Tysons Corner Center mall in Tysons Corner, Virginia, USA.
Children and families step through CAMP’s “magic door” into the 2021 Walt Disney Animation Studios film Encanto. Guests emerge into a bustling town plaza before stepping through the front door of the magical Casita house from the film. Guests can freely explore Casita and all its rooms and secret passages - from Antonio’s rainforest, to Isabela’s flower garden, to Luisa’s happy place, and even Bruno’s room, though we don’t talk about him.
My primary roles on this project were designer and 3D rendering artist, alongside one other designer and several freelance designers, led by CAMP’s Vice President of Experience Design and CAMP’s Chief Creative Officer.
WE WON A THEA!
CAMP x Disney Encanto received a 2024 Thea Award for Outstanding Achievement. One of the greatest honors in the themed entertainment industry, the Thea Awards, curated by the Themed Entertainment Association (TEA), recognize the highest level of success and innovation from all sides of the industry, from theme parks to immersive experiences.
I am honored to have worked as one of the two designers on this project underneath our lead vice president of experience design. This achievement recognizes the care and love that myself and our team have treated the intellectual properties and brands that have trusted us to create special experiences for the children and families walking into our stores.
